Inktober 2017, Day 7: Shy Self Portrait

Inktober 2017

This fall, I took to heart this advice that really resonated with me as an artist who often feels overwhelmed and dissatisfied with the amount of work I’m able to produce, show and share throughout the year. While I could never be called unmotivated and I really love the direction that my career as a preparator and workshop facilitator has taken me, the chance to sit down and be focused on my work is a rare opportunity indeed.

So, I decided to take part in this year’s internet event: #inktober2017. With a list of daily prompts and my set of rules, I am proud to share all 31 days of work.

My own rules were as followed:

  • Limit yourself to 1 hour.
  • Plan nothing and respond only to the prompt.
  • Do not fear mistakes – not everything will turn out and that is ok.
  • Use ink, but do not limit yourself to one medium.
  • Share everything. Archive everything.
