8-minute read. Content warning: fatigue and people-pleasing tendencies
chatGPT Summary: Kay works on The Unseen series, drafts a script, and begins a maquette. They reflect on the balance between public visibility and private focus, the challenges of anticipation when visitors arrive, and the momentum gained as the first week closes.
Hit an energy pocket!
I worked on my large series work – was calling at me all day.
I had a few visitors today, and wasn’t interrupted. I think not knowing someone is coming is actually better for me because otherwise I am anticipating their arrival. That said – I still want to know if someone is coming so I don’t leave… The ills of a people pleaser. Still getting use to being so public in this year’s residency.
End of Day reflection:
Day 6 also means the week is almost done. I feel like I’m getting my stride, and I think it helped that the @fleet_mobile_studios was fairly warm today. I hope this momentum carries me through the forthcoming rain next week!
The video transcript with the description follows the hashtags below. I like the ping-pong energy between clone-voice Kay and Bill, the narrator (ElevenLabs). Since I’m trying a slightly different format today, I added some Kevin McLeod music. Those credits follow the transcript below.
Transcript: Kay walks in front of a large black paper with a white figure and lines of white text. Wearing a painter’s smock and yellow lanyard, they sign:
“It’s 6:15, and I’m calling day six complete. Wanna know what I did today?”
They gesture, and a series of short clips follow.
Kay leans against a wall, looking at an iPad:
“I read a heck of a lot…”
A photo of Kay with two others appears, their Instagram handles flashing above them:
“More people came to visit!”
A set of storyboards and pink stickies:
“The first draft of my script is finished. Yes!”
A hanging plant above a window:
“I made a new friend today!”
Kay looks up sweetly.
Standing again in front of the large paper, Kay signs:
“This is part of my series titled “The Unseen,”
A timelapse shows Kay writing the many lines of white text.
A close-up shows a small paper model in progress:
“I started a small-scale model of the space,”
Then, it cuts back to Kay. They place a hand on their forehead, leaning back dramatically.
“Wow. The week isn’t quite finished, but after tomorrow—one week down. Where did the time go? Now, it’s time to head home, eat, blog, and plan.” They flash wide eyes, smile, and give two thumbs up.
“Ok – see you tomorrow?”
They sign “I love you” and walk away. The video ends.

I continue to test the use of AI within my writing and artistic practice. I used chatGPT to create a summary and reading estimate, and recommend some content warnings for this blog, and Grammarly to assist me in spelling and grammar.
