Within the theme of Mad Pride: Mad City, I considered the daily mental battle one faces when one is trying to stay afloat while riding the fast-paced rapids of city life. Some days, it is easy to hold your head high, stand strong against the current and shout to the world “I am here, I will not yield and I am awesome”; other days it is all you can do to keep your head above water as it pours down around and out of you. One is not better than the other. Both faces are real and worthy of respect. Both are vulnerable and beautiful.
